Summer Aeration

This week we are solid tining our greens with 8mm Tines to a depth off 200mm .
Over the course off the Summer we plan to do this  3 times .This operation is crucial to promote the finer deeper rooting grasses Fescue/ Bent during the growing Season.
There is very little surface disruption with this and a single pass with the Turf Iron afterwards means golfers dont notice it has been done .

Hotter Than A Peppered Sprout !

It was not so hot this morning though ! A cheeky wee frost  put in an appearance and haulted any Cutting until 7.30am .
The weather has been Hot and Dry now for a few weeks ,so we have had to water a few dry spots around the course. Greenkeepers are never happy to hot to cold to dry to wet .......... LOL :   )
