Grow Covers

We have been out putting grow covers on our two north facing greens which suffer lack of light and air movement through the winter months. To give them a help for the next week or so with temperatures on the rise and daylight hours increasing , were aiming to help these greens catch up with the rest.

Air2G2 Aeration

This week we have Chris Pearson in Aerating the big course greens , the machine has 3 tines whitch penetrate into the soil and then blow a compressed jet of air out of the base of each tine . The compressed air releaves compaction fracturing any compacted layers , allowing roots to go deeper into a healthier oxygenated root zone .

Germination

Our latest overseeding has germinated .
Germination is the easy part , it's getting these new seedlings to establish into an existing competitive Sward that is difficult along with the cutting and foot traffic from golf !

The correct balance of nutrition and irrigation is needed to give these new seedlings the best chance of surviving and thriving !
